A possible way to get JWs info w/out incriminating oneself?
by ithinkisee ini have an idea on how to get information in a way that won't get you identified ... i wanted to put it to this forum for scrutiny before i actually put it into practice.
i am on several people's jw spam list.
.meaning they constantly send me the same things that go around in other circles, like the "send this to five friends" or they send the scriptures for the week's book study, or they send a "jws in the news" article or something like that.

Do you have to be Anointed to be called a Jehovah's Witness?
by Triple A inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/85344/1.ashx
in the above thread i said, ?to truely call yourself a jehovah's witness, you have to be one of the 144,000 (anointed).
truthfully you can only truely be a champion or associate.

Thank you for the input. The doctrine that only the Anointed are JW is evidently not taught today. But I still wonder if the GB does not believe it. If the GB does, it would help explain why it is okay for them to lie to the other sheep.

my father was a devout jehovah's witness, and he intended on indoctrinating me in the faith as i grew up...however, my mother took me away from him when i was 4 years old, and i haven't been able to find him since (i contacted the main hq in new york, but he couldn't be found anywhere).
i have read numerous books and articles which i've got from the watchtower store, and have read this website, www.watchtower.org and been involved in the yahoo!

In the above thread I said,?To truely call yourself a Jehovah's Witness, you have to be one of the 144,000 (Anointed). Truthfully you can only truely be a champion or associate. But this is not enforced and the great crowd is allowed to say they are a Jehovah's Witness.
By the way to be truely one of the 144,000, you should have been baptized before 1935.?AshtonCA called me on the carpet,
Well I should have said that it is my theory that you have to be one of the Anointed to be technically called a Jehovah?s Witness. Is it enforced today? No. But is it still a belief of the GB??This wasn't the way it was when I was in about 10 years ago, you were one of JW's if you were baptized, that's why they ask you the question about if you accept that you are now one when you get baptized. Being anointed or not, if you were not baptized at any time in your life, then you are not one of JW's.
While researching the WTS I kept getting this nagging feeling that to truly or technically, according to the Society, be called a Jehovah?s Witness you had to be one of the Anointed. Recently I read Edmond C. Gruss?s book, ?The Four Presidents of the Watch Tower Society (Jehovah?s Witnesses)? I became convinced of this. I also believe it answers another question of mine and that is why is it okay for the Anointed to lie to the Great Crowd?
On page 28 the second para. Gruss says, ?It was this man-made ?organization? that henceforth occupied the position of ?the faithful and wise servant.? Than as now, it consists only of the ?remanant.? 25 The

Welcome,
To truely call yourself a Jehovah's Witness, you have to be one of the 144,000 (Annioted). Truthfully you can only truely be a champion or associate. But this is not enforced and the great crowd is allowed to say they are a Jehovah's Witness.
By the way to be truely one of the 144,000, you should have been baptized before 1935.
Research, Research, Research before you make a final decision.

Do you feel that "all" Christian denomnations should be "abolished"?
by booker-t ini ask this question because my "atheist" friend the other day told me that he is much mentally free now since he left christianity.
he told me that "all" christians that he comes into contact with or knows from his religious lifetime are "miserable" and that the govt should abolish all christian groups for the sake of perserving the mental health of the people.
christians never are satisfied with their lives because they are trying to measure up to "jesus" and the apostles and will never measure up which causes many nervous breakdowns among religious people of all christian groups not just jw or mormons but many born-agains have mental breakdown as well.

I agree with LittleToe, I am diffenently not miserable.
Christians never are satisfied with their lives because they are trying to measure up
We are taught that we will continue to fall short, but to do our best. That God still loves us.
why can't you just go to a christian church without the minister trying to force you to give money all the time?
I fyou consider passing the collection plate being forced than maybe you are write. But I have never been asked to contribute more than I already have. In 51 years I may have heard 20 sermons on contributions/tithing and usually it is part of something else. Not a jam it down your throat type of sermon.
Most of the minister of today's churches drive around in fancy cars and live in big homes
Until resently our pastor drove around in an old Honda Civic. Nobody would ride with him. Now he drives an SUV that doe not have any frills. His house is average for the area and the nicities he did himself.
My friend said that he went to a church one Sunday in Jeans and a shirt and the Pastor complained to him that he was being disrespectful for not having on a Sunday suit.
If your friend lives close enough to go to church in the San Diego area, have him PM me. We are switching churches and in both you will find suits; however, you will jeans and Aloha shirts. My wife has not worn a skirt to church in years.
Christians are always condemning gays and lesbians to hell but would God really want a gay person to "act" straight just to get to heaven?
We condemn the act of homosexuality. No one has been able to show me that gay acts are Biblical. But we believe that all are creatures of God and we need to love and support all. Personally, I think your freind is looking for the worst. He/she is not going with open eyes, just seeing what they wish to see. It is like the canned response of, "I have looked at all the religions and found them confusing." When in truth they never looked past what they wanted to see and hear.

Baptism, why does the great crowd get baptized?
by Triple A inif the new testament is only for the anointed, why doe the great crowd get baptized?
-
Triple A
Thanks again for the research.
In the Reformed Protestant denominations (can not speak for the other Christian denominations), we beleive that Baptism is only a symbol of our dedication. It does not save one from any thing, but whether you are baptized or not all are able to share in the New Testament promises.

Thanks all for the inputs.
Carmel, perhaps my assumption was to broad. would it have been correct to say that the Great Crowd does not share in the promises of the New Testament. Triple A
Leolaia, I did not realize that baptism was only called a dedication. Is that the wording used in the two questions? Triple A

Annointed: yearly figures
by DaCheech in.
is it my imagination.... or did the numbers of "annointed" partaking in the lords evening meal go up by 5 people this year?.
what explanation can make any sense at all about this?
-
Triple A
If both parents are annointed and the children are not, would that not mean that this family would be torn apart in the kingdom?
